Two fire companies. One valley.

The valley had two fire companies, Hegins and Valley View. Merger talks began in May 2014, and on January 1, 2015, they became one company: Hegins Valley Fire-Rescue.

The new company built Station 13 in 2015 and 2016 on the site of the Hegins Fire Company's station, a four-bay truck room on Chestnut Street. Contractors donated part of the work.

Today five units answer from that one station: two engines, a heavy rescue, a squad and the duty officer's vehicle. If you live in the Tri-Valley School District, there's a seat for you.
